Description We can't predict what the future holds, but we know Texas Instruments will have a part in shaping it. Multiphase Control Solutions (MCS): TI's Multiphase and Controller Solutions (MCS) team - responsible for multiphase DC/DC controllers and power stages - is looking for experienced systems engineers with power module design experience to drive the next wave of integration in high performance, high efficiency, and high-density DC/DC. In MCS, our mission is to deliver the converter solutions which power large CPU, SOC, ASIC platforms in the rapidly expanding Enterprise Computing/Datacenter market. Target platforms include Intel, AMD, ARM, and custom ASICs from several vendors.
About the job At TI, System Engineers work to identify ideal roadmap opportunities for a business and are responsible for defining new products and platforms based on market opportunity. To do this, they leverage strong technical knowledge of our existing portfolio, deep understanding of the technologies, standards and protocols within an industry or end equipment, and an ability to engage with customers and translate their requirements into technical specifications that will solve their problems. Systems engineers also partner closely with marketing and applications engineers, as well as design teams, to ensure our roadmap is both meeting customer and market requirements and is technically optimized and manufacturable at a price and cost point that makes sense for the business.
About the role and team: In this system engineer role, you'll have the chance to:
- Interface directly with key customers and technologists to define product highly integration power stage and controller roadmaps
- Assess and negotiate IC development tradeoffs with design teams and customers
- Evaluate silicon systems (hardware and software) and related documentation
- Gather user requirements, translate them to functional specifications, and implement solutions and enhancement projects
- Provide complete documentation for each development lifecycle step
- Perform troubleshooting and debugging on issues related to the system
- Develop advanced mixed-signal integrated circuits and system products from concept to mass production
- Complete advanced high-speed IC design cycles and participate in a variety of system design activities
- Analyze key end-equipment in automotive, industrial, consumer and computing spaces to identify future trends, identifying opportunities for improving performance and adding value to these systems
