SQL Data Analyst required for a large Reg Reporting DW build at a leading Hedge Fund in London.

Our client are looking for an experienced SQL Data Analyst, with Regulatory Reporting and Trade Data experience, to help them re build an existing Data Warehouse, to streamline the file/messaging process and reduce reporting time.

This role is 5 days a week onsite in the Mayfair office, and is a split between data analysis, development, and collaboration with internal teams and groups.

They are after a seasoned individual who can work with Development, QA, and internal stakeholders while taking ownership of the analysis work on the program.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Ownership of Analysis and Documentation
    • Capture and define requirements
    • Analyze and document new data feeds and the migration of existing data.
    • Collaborate with other teams (for example Regulatory team and upstream system owners)
  • Collaboration with Developers
    • Partner with developers to build new data feeds and migrate existing data.
    • It is expected that you will also creating SQL scripts and stored procedures as part of the complete solution
  • Solution Delivery
    • Delivery-Oriented Mindset, engage with various teams to create solutions that handle large volumes of data.
  • Testing and Validation
    • Support testing processes and validate solutions to ensure quality.
    • Assist in configuring test automation tools and validate solutions.

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Preferred experience with investment banking datasets, such as Trades, Positions, P&L, and Reference Data.
  • Strong SQL Skills, Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets
  • Optimize database performance by analysing query execution plans, index tuning, and database normalization
  • Utilize window functions to perform advanced analytical operations, such as ranking, partitioning, and aggregating data
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues
  • Understanding and appreciation of testing methodologies to ensure accuracy in production.
  • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving abilities and creativity; capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive, strong communicator with the ability to interface effectively with users and development teams both locally and internationally.
