Senior Python Django Developer (Contract)
Location: City of London Country: UK Rate: Market Rates - PAYE
Senior Python Django Developer - JP Morgan - London - 6 months contract - Hybrid - PAYE
We are seeking a Senior Python Django Developer to join JP Morgan on an initial 6 months contract in London where you will be part of a team which manages database platforms helping to develop new features amongst other responsibilities. Candidates can be based out of London or Bournemouth for this position.
As a Senior Python Django Developer you will help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to operations problems. Much of our software development focuses on creating new applications, optimizing existing systems and reducing work through automation. You'll join a team of curious problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who are thinking big and taking risks.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain Back End services using Python and Django.
* Develop and maintain REST APIs to support Front End applications and third-party integrations.
* Architect and implement microservices to enhance scalability and performance.
* Collaborate with Front End developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
* Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices and coding standards.
* Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate and manage deployment pipelines.
* Monitor and optimize application performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
* Troubleshoot and debug issues, providing timely resolutions.
Requirements:
* Strong proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience in Django.
* Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
* Solid understanding of microservices architecture and best practices.
* Experience with infrastructure as code (eg, Terraform, Ansible, or SALT).
* Proficiency in working with relational databases (eg, PostgreSQL, MySQL, CockroachDB).
* Experience with modern cloud technologies (eg, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
* Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (eg, Docker, Kubernetes).
* Knowledge of version control systems (eg, Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
*Please note that this role will be working on a hybrid model of 3 days office based and up to 2 days wfh. You'll require your own device when working from home.*
