Python Software Engineer
6 month initial contract
Hybrid Based - 2 days per week in London office
Joining an innovative milti-billion client who are dedicated to transforming the way of approaching cloud solutions and crafting scalable systems to meet real-world needs.
For this position, the end client is looking for an experienced Python Software Engineer who has a background in leading an agile software team, whilst holding a delivery mindset and focusing on delivering tested software in regular and small incraments. Whilst being comfotable navigating environments with uncertainty, and holding the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
The ideal candidate would be preferred to have a background in commodity trading (gas & power)/knowledge of quantative finace or familiraity with compliance and regulation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with both technical teams and business stakeholders to gather and define project requirements.
- Partner with Solution Architects to design and document the future state of solutions.
- Understand and align with Product Manager's vision, providing insights on feasibility and crafting actionable solutions.
- Identify and communicate risks and dependencies to the Project Manager promptly, along with potential mitigation strategies.
Technical Skills Requires:
- Experience in designing and implementing scalable cloud systems in Azure
- Proficiency in Python for developing and testing RESTful API services (C# is a plus, but not essential).
- Expertise in automated testing, including unit, integration, component, end-to-end, and performance testing.
- Knowledge/Experience with Azure services such as Entra ID, AKS, Front Door, networking & DNS, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, and Blob Storage.
- Knowledge of message bus/queue technologies.
- Understanding of OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and JWTs.
Desireable Technical Skills:
- Experience with system integration
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Kafka
- Knowledge of Terraform and GitHub Actions
