AWS Data Engineer (Contract/Permanent)

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Data & Analytics projects, ensuring successful delivery to clients.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior team members.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their business requirements and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Oversee data collection, cleansing, and preparation processes.
  • Design and implement data architectures, data models and data integration solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project plans and delivery schedules.

Skills:

  • 7+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with SQL
  • Priority experience with Apache Spark, Elastic Map Reduce, S3
  • Additional benefits with experience in other AWS-native technologies like Redshift, AWS Glue, EMR, EC2, Athena, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
  • Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data and analytics projects.
  • Experience leading project teams and managing project delivery.
  • Proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions to clients.

Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Lead data analysis and modeling efforts, working with clients to understand their data needs.
  • Manage project delivery, including the creation and maintenance of project plans and delivery schedules.
  • Lead technical discussions with clients and internal teams.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide guidance and support.
  • Ensure project quality and delivery on time and within budget.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Certification in data and analytics technologies is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead project teams and manage delivery.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to develop strong client relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
