Great opportunity to join an innovative Software Development team developing web-based product solutions for Customers in a dynamic Agile development environment. The team form part of a leading provider of IT Solutions to the Public Sector with offices throughout the UK. It's a terrific opportunity to work in an established development team building new and innovative functionality while having the opportunity to introduce new ideas to the team and learn new technologies. This role will suit a Senior Developer who ideally has some experience of coaching and mentoring more Junior Developers and is looking to progress to a Development Team Lead or Team Management role.

Duties:

  • Work alongside an established development team to build new and innovative functionality, whilst having the opportunity to introduce new ideas and learn new technologies, (coaching and mentoring more Junior Developers)
  • Using an Agile approach
  • Using MS Visual Studio development skills (C# or another language), and your SQL know-how
  • Develop bespoke software modules
  • Bring new ideas, be creative and grasp opportunities to further develop/evolve the product
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications issues, applying a methodical approach

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years commercial software development experience
  • Preferable - Development Team Lead or Team Management experience, (including mentoring, coaching and prioritising development work)
  • Knowledge of web & database technologies, (HTML, CSS and Javascript)
  • Knowledge of C# with MS Visual Studio, (ideally MVC)
  • Knowledge of other MS technologies such as SQL Server, IIS, Windows Workflow, ASP.NET, SharePoint etc.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript & JQuery
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle
  • Good understanding of web best practice
  • Ability to work to technical specifications
  • Ability to develop in Agile Scrum methodology
