Data Governance Manager (Contract)

Location: Manchester Country: UK
 

Data Governance Manager (Inside IR35)

Contract Term: 6 months

Contracting Authority: Greater Manchester Police

Location: Manchester - 2 days per week in office

In this role you will support and advise Greater Manchester Police RMS Replacement Project in how they can optimise the use of police information to deliver effective and efficient policing.

As a Data Governance Manager, your main responsibilities would be:

  • Advise the project and senior officers about what police information can be lawfully shared with partners.
  • Provide data protection, General Data Protection
  • Regulation (GDPR) Management of Police Information (MoPI) and information governance expertise to advise and instruct officers, staff and project teams to ensure legislative compliance and enable the delivery of information management strategy, policy and procedures across GMP.
  • Providing support and advice to the Programme Business Change Lead.
  • Facilitate ensuring that the necessary governance is in place to ensure compliance with information standards and legislation.
  • Review, evaluate and make proportionate decisions to retain or dispose of police information.

You'll have relevant experience in:

Successful candidates will need to go through NPPV3 checks prior to beginning assignment.

  • Specific records management background in order to lead in the technical design of a SharePoint Online solution.
  • Practical experience of setting up both document libraries and records libraries in SharePoint Online, and/or theoretical records management or archiving expertise so they can interpret our retention and disposal schedules/policies and apply them practically in the SharePoint environment to make sure our new system complies with records management standards.
  • Specialist knowledge of naming conventions and access controls would also be useful.
  • Practical experience in setting up SharePoint Online for first time use and experience in migrating records from network file shares and on-premise SharePoint sites.
