Product Owner - Manchester; Financial Services; 6 month contract (Contract)

Location: Manchester Country: UK Rate: Up to £550/day Dependent on experience
 

Product Owner

Manchester based with 2 days per week in office

6 month initial contract paid via Umbrella Company

Newtyne's financial services client is developing a new Business Intelligence capability that will change how their business uses data to make decisions for customers. With this new capability they have the demand to bring in more data sources and use this data both internally and externally.

As they get close to implementing these initial products they require an experienced Product Owner to provide leadership in the following areas:

  • Build up the Product Backlog on Azure DevOps (ADO) in line with the Product/Project Plans
  • Collaborate with teams in the wider organisation, Project Manager, Product Owners, etc.
  • Lead on ensuring they have the right user stories and tasks on the ADO boards in line with plans; someone who will get into the detail working across the several delivery squads
  • Prioritise tasks in a given sprint in line with expectations and business need
  • Supporting the Scrum Master making sure these are delivered by the team to the correct standard
  • Help unlock some lower level technical decisions with the product team
  • Drive the Route to Live and CI/CD activity and the documentation required and link ups to relevant areas
  • Help drive adoption of the products

Person profile:

  • Specific experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Extensive experience of delivering data solutions
  • Exception leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Worked within an agile environment
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence principles
  • Experience with Power BI and a modern data platform
