Key Job Accountabilities

1. Plan assigned areas in accordance with Audit Methodology and with the assistance of the OIC. Develop a thorough understanding of the business, risks and processes for assigned projects.
2. Execute assigned audit activities independently as a team member under the direction of the OIC. Work with other participants in order to ensure audit is effectively completed within allowable timelines. Escalate any obstacles in a timely manner to the OIC to determine resource utilization and scope reductions.
3. Problem Identification - Ensure audit results are gathered, determine the root cause of the problem impact, prepare/review audit findings.
4. Ensure writings are clear and concise and demonstrate a good understanding of the subject. Summarize issues in interim reporting. Present findings to line management when required. Conduct closing meetings with branch management when required.
5. Participate or manage specific projects or investigations as assigned.

Skills, experiences and functional competencies

1. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and relationship management skills.
2. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel with the ability to quickly learn and adopt new software tools.
3. Thorough knowledge of at least two areas of Canadian Banking (eg, Retail Banking, Small Business, Branch Operations, Global Operations) including relevant policies and procedures.
4. Proven ability to coach, work with a team and provide effective feedback to others.
5. Flexibility to adapt to a variety of tasks, periods of travel, as well as deadline and scheduling changes. This role will require up to 40% travel.
6. Attention to detail and analytical skills are essential.

Education and other requirements

University degree, Professional Designation (CPA, CFA, CFE) and previous audit experience preferred.
