Job Purpose:

Global Finance Technology primary role is to work with the Bank's finance community to redesign/re-engineer finance processes to enhance effectiveness and efficiency. The unit is also responsible for developing and implementing Financial/MIS applications services to meet the changing needs of Finance and the Bank. These applications have an enterprise-wide user community, and are an integral part of Finance's performance measurement, reporting and control infrastructure.

The purpose of this job is will be to build applications and use ETL tools to stage and consume data into various Finance applications that are both in-house built and vendor supported. The incumbent works closely with other units in Finance, as well as Global Finance Technology, to ensure that proposed solutions align with the strategic direction for Finance's process and information technology platforms. The Program Analyst Advisory communicates project progress, as well as the status of issues that impact project scope, business value, risk and resources. In addition, the incumbent provides a high level of professional service to the project management and technical management community, within Finance Technology, consistent with Technology standards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop cost effective and efficient applications to meet business objectives by analyzing user requirements, providing technical specifications and designs, developing detailed work-plans, scheduling technical resources, monitoring progress against plan and developing/maintaining programs according to standards. The incumbent must ensure software, programs and applications developed and/or configured to meet high availability, integrity and reliability requirements.
  • Provide production and user acceptance testing application support to complex technical problems on all assigned applications and technology that serve each business unit by analyzing problems, implementing solutions and developing new procedures surrounding support.
  • Implement new systems or enhancements by reviewing programs written by team members, establishing and executing system test procedures, developing implementation plans, developing the required program and system documentation and ensuring all functionality has been delivered as required.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the Division's business strategies, business policies, financial instruments, risk management and back-office processing.
  • Participates in the investigation and resolution of application problems
  • Design and develop (where appropriate) solutions for different business stakeholders using multiple tools. These include various vendor ETL tools and native PL/SQL
  • Ensures the managers are kept informed of all unresolved issues, other areas of concern and other deviations from plans through timely and well documented reporting

  • Thorough knowledge of bank software deployment methodology
  • Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
  • Strong team orientation and teamwork skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to debug and support deployed code
  • - Must have hands-on technical working experience with web containers; WebLogic or Tomcat; UNIX or Linux OS & Oracle/MSSQL relational databases.
  • - Must have demonstrated technical working experience in creating or modifying Object Oriented design using industry design patterns.
  • - Hands-on technical working experience with Web Services, utilizing either SOAP or RESTful APIs.

Education/Expereinces:

  • At least 10 years' experience in developing with a software lifecycle. This should include change control right through to scheduler deployment in production
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or other related field.
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of hands-on technical working experience with systems development utilizing the following technologies - Java (J2EE, Core Java and Swing); PL/SQL for stored procedures, functions & queries.
