IM&T Support Engineer - NHS

My client is an NHS organisation based in London. They are seeking a new individual to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is working on a shift/rota pattern covering 7 days a week 24 hours a day.

Summary of role:

The Duty Engineering team is primarily responsible for providing 24/7 technical support to the organisation's control rooms to maintain continuous operation of essential systems.

To provide initial response, triage and support for the resolution of technical issues including problem identification and resolution where possible, and necessary liaison with second and third line technical teams or third party contractors to ensure timely escalation when required. Manage the incident as required.

To provide ongoing monitoring and checking of critical systems to resolve issues before they escalate to the point of impacting service quality. In cases where escalation is necessary, work alongside technical engineers and third party service providers to support the resolution of any issues.

To support operational colleagues during major and significant operational and IT incidents to ensure prompt resolution and minimal impact on control room operations. Identify, triage, monitor, resolve or escalate routine incidents and service requests, ensuring they are handled within an agreed service level agreement.

Experience required:

• Hands on experience in large and complex organisations
• Experience supporting business critical software, applications systems and processes
• Strong understanding of ITIL best practice (ideally certified)
• Software installation and maintenance
• Hands on experience of managing multiple incidents and user escalations
• Building and deploying equipment
• An in-depth knowledge of troubleshooting Microsoft Operating systems including Windows
• Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting Microsoft Office Suite Experience of Microsoft Active Directory
